There are times when the noise falls away and all that remains is the weight of our own thoughts.

Desolate Silence explores those quieter moments. The spaces between action and reaction, where reflection replaces distraction and we are left alone with what we are carrying.

Fragments of colour and structure move across the portrait, suggesting the experiences, pressures and emotions that shape us. Yet despite the complexity, the figure remains calm, turned inward rather than outward.

The closed eyes create a sense of stillness, while layers of abstraction reveal the tension between what is visible and what remains hidden beneath the surface.

Rather than portraying silence as emptiness, the work considers it as a space for understanding. A pause that allows us to process, recover and reconnect with ourselves.

The result is a portrait that reflects both vulnerability and resilience, recognising that some of our most important moments of growth happen quietly and unseen.
